Student success is one of our favorite things at StoryStudio. This year we have four students publishing their first YA/MiddleGrade Novels! Big congratulations to Amelia Brunskill, Madeline Reynolds, Lauren Whalen, and Jessica Pennington. They’ve taken time from their busy writing lives to answer a few questions for us about their journey.
This week, Madeline Reynolds tells us about landing her book deal from a twitter pitch party.
Oh, so many great classes and workshops! I actually just took a Crafting YA Voices class with Denise Santomauro, which was fantastic! Another invaluable class I took was the Publishing Intensive with Rebecca Makkai, in which I crafted the very query letter that I ended up sending to my agent. Overall, I think my favorite class I took was a speculative fiction workshop where I met some fabulous, like-minded fantasy authors and we ended up forming a writing group. We still meet to this day!
Thank you Madeline Reynolds! Madeline’s book cover will be revealed soon. Follow her on twitter @mad_reynolds, Instagram @monnia, and www.madelinejreynolds.com for more updates.
