Description of Class
Bring your stories of the fantastic, supernatural, futuristic (and beyond) to the workshop table and receive honest, constructive feedback from a group of committed readers!
This monthly workshop is designed for writers of science fiction, fantasy, horror, and related sub-genres such as magical realism, new weird, and surrealism. Led by acclaimed author Richard Thomas, each session focuses on workshopping student manuscripts to provide writers with the clear and structured feedback they need to improve their work.
The group meets once a month, leaving writers plenty of time to read and write. During each three-hour class session, students will share drafts of their speculative fiction stories or novel excerpts, respond to one another’s work, and discuss each piece as a group. This workshop is the ideal place for writers to give and get feedback in a supportive and productive atmosphere among fellow genre enthusiasts. All students will receive written comments from their peers and the instructor.
This course is limited to 12 students and will meet once a month for six sessions. Previous workshop experience is recommended.Top
