Description of Class
Craving a meditative Saturday full of inspiration and creation?
This three-hour class taught by Vincent Francone is devoted to ekphrastic poetry, the practice of writing about images. Settle in to the studio and examine poems that were inspired by paintings and sculptures, including work by W. H. Auden, Paul Muldoon, William Carlos Williams, and Conor O’Callaghan.
Afterward, write your own poems after reviewing a collection of images intended to inspire your work.
The last hour of class will be dedicated to workshopping drafts. Students will leave class with a poem drafted and ideas for a series of future work.Top
