Description of Class
Do you find yourself thinking, “If only I had a little more time, I’d write that short story I’ve been meaning to write for months,” or “If I could just get myself to revise this story, I know it’ll be so much better”? If so, this is the fiction workshop for you.
In this six-week, online course, we’ll review various craft-related elements of fiction-writing, and focus on workshop critiques of your original work, either stand-alone novel chapters or short stories. You are also welcome to submit linked flash fiction pieces.
Weekly writing prompts and optional short reading assignments (stories by Mary Gaitskill, Jhumpa Lahiri, Bonnie Jo Campbell, William Trevor and a few others) will be paired with the workshops.
