Description of Class
Business Writing Fundamentals will help you put your best self forward with every word you write in the workplace. You can learn at your own pace, with or without a coach.
Clear and Compelling Business Communication
Whether you’re composing emails, articles, reports, proposals, or other projects, you will learn the tools for crafting clear and concise communications. At StoryStudio, we believe that business writing IS creative writing, which is why our unique course relies on techniques not just from the world of business, but from fiction, poetry, and other writing genres. (Read more about our creative business writing philosophy here!)
Flexible, Convenient Self-Directed Online Instruction
You move through the class on your schedule. Guided by instructor videos, “food for thought” questions, reading and writing assignments, and grammar quizzes, you will explore skills that turn average messages into compelling business communications. You will also take a current work project and re-envision it —start to finish—using StoryStudio’s Business Writer’s Checklist.
The course can typically be completed in about three or four weeks. After your first login, you’ll have up to 12 weeks to finish. This course is self-directed and does not include live instructor interaction. However, you may choose to take the course with a Coach to provide ongoing feedback. An additional fee of $100 will be applied. Contact us to learn more about this one-to-one course experience, or simply register for the course AND coach here.
A Certificate of Completion may be sent to students or supervisors upon request.
