Welcome to the new Writers Room!
Consider this your workspace, writer's garret, and secret garden. StoryStudio’s new Writers Room is a space for writers to work in the company of other writers, with all the comforts (and none of the distractions!) of home. Located in our North Shore Studio, the Writers Room features cozy leather chairs to sink into, a table to put your laptop on, a bookshelf of classics new and old to get you warmed up, the smell of brewing coffee, and creative karma.
The Writers Room is open to all writers—freelancers, novelists, bloggers, creative non-fiction, or business writers. Our goal is to offer you convenient space and the right environment for you to focus on your words.
Writers Room Passes
A pass to the Writers Room is open to all types of writers. All keys include:- access seven days a week, except when classes or events are scheduled
- wireless Internet
- complimentary coffee and tea
- printing (10 cents per page)
- use of refrigerator, microwave, and kitchen
- ability to reserve private office in 2-hour blocks

Free Trial! Call us at least two business days in advance to try the Writers Room for one day. One free trial per person.
All passholders are required to pay a security deposit, returnable after the term of the contract.
How do I apply?
You may download the Writers Room application here. Complete the application and return to us with the $25 application fee** to info@storystudiochicago.com, or mail to StoryStudio Chicago, 4043 N. Ravenswood, Suite 222, Chicago, IL 60613. We will review your application and respond, usually within two business days. **Application fee is waived for StoryStudio members in good standing. If your application is accepted, you will be required to sign a Writers Room agreement and submit payment for your pass and a $25 security deposit, refundable at the end of your pass term. Then you'll receive your entrance code and start writing!

Our North Shore location is at: 723 Elm Street, Suite 26, Winnekta, ILIf you’re taking the Metra: The Metra Winnetka station is just a block and a half west of the studio. Exit onto Elm or Lincoln streets and walk one block east to 723 Elm.
