StoryStudio's Writers Room!

Consider this your workspace, writer's garret, and secret garden.

StoryStudio’s offers space for two writers to work in the studio with all the comforts (and none of the distractions!) of home.

Located in our North Shore Studio, the two Writers Room desks sit in a quiet corner of the studio featuring large windows and adjustable office chairs, the smell of brewing coffee, and creative karma.

writersroom A Writers Room desk is open to all writers—freelancers, novelists, bloggers, creative non-fiction, or business writers. Our goal is to offer you convenient space and the right environment for you to focus on your words.

Writers Room Fees

A Writers Room desk is rented for a minimum of three months, with a pre-paid fee of $270. This includes:
  • access seven days a week
  • wireless Internet access
  • complimentary coffee and tea
  • printing (10 cents per page)
  • use of refrigerator, microwave, and kitchen
Writers are required to pay a security deposit of $100, returnable after the term of the contract.

Our North Shore location is at: 723 Elm Street, Suite 26, Winnekta, IL

If you’re taking the Metra: The Metra Winnetka station is just a block and a half west of the studio. Exit onto Elm or Lincoln streets and walk one block east to 723 Elm.

If you’re driving: Click here for driving directions or give us a call and we can help you. We're between Green Bay and Sheridan Roads, or take the Willow Road exit from I94.

Where to Park

The Village of Winnetka has parking restrictions on many streets so please read all signs. The Village lot across the street on Elm is available for two-hour parking. Further east on Elm Street (by the park), there is unrestricted street parking.
