FOO StoryStudio Chicago with classes in the North Shore: freelance writing

Freelance Writing

Begins Tuesday, September 13, 2011

If you’re not sure how to break into magazine writing, the answer is simple. When in doubt, write what you know.

This 8-week class will focus on telling a good story, whether you're writing a magazine article, a restaurant review, or a travel piece. In fact, this class will allow you to experiment with many forms of freelance writing that you can continue to develop into a business, or use on your personal blog.

Field trips, writing assignments and studying published work are all part of the experience.

Students will have the opportunity to write and workshop several pieces during this course with the goal of producing at least one magazine article (350-1,200 words) that is ready for submission – and publication!

Writer's Roadmap
This course is suited for those interested in developing their own blogs or writing for magazine publication (print or online). Graduates of Creative Writing I and/or Writing Life Stories will especially benefit.
