College Application Essay Camp
A fun, invigorating, and productive week for high school juniors and those getting ready to apply to college.
Don’t wait until late fall to write your college application essays. By the end of this five-day boot camp, you'll have several drafts that can be used or adapted for specific questions that various colleges require.
This unique boot camp will help you focus your thoughts to develop a strong personal statement and craft exceptional application essays that will stand out and impress admissions committees.
We will read Harry Bauld’s book, On Writing The College Application Essay, and examine successful sample drafts written by former high-school students. Be prepared to write daily journal assignments and rework drafts.
Over the course of the week, you'll brainstorm topics and ideas, write first drafts and incorporate feedback to write a second or third draft. By Friday, you'll have met the challenge of writing your essays, leaving you and your family to concentrate on other college decisions. Craft these pieces this summer and avoid first-semester anxiety as admissions deadlines loom.
