Writing for Standardized Tests

Description: The demand for high marks on high-stakes writing tests such as the Prairie State Achievement Test (PSAE), Scholastic Aptitude Test (SAT), and ACT put students under a great amount of pressure.

This class will teach young writers how to understand and address a writing prompt, as well as how to assess the writing using a scoring rubric.

This special insight into testing and writing practices will produce more confident writers and higher test scores.

Who Should Attend: This class is appropriate for all middle- and high-school students who wish to improve their writing skills.
