Writing Coaching
Description: For those looking for intensive, personalized instruction and writing coaching, we offer:
- one-to-one sessions (face-to-face or telephone meetings)
- manuscript critiques with notes
- manuscript editing
- screenplay critiques with notes
- individual writing coaching for business writing projects
How it Works
You send us your manuscript and we’ll spend time with it, reading and critiquing. Then we’ll meet with you to go over our comments and suggestions.
We charge by the hour for both reading and meeting time. A good estimate is two to three dollars per page for reading and critiquing fiction and creative non-fiction. For screenplays, we suggest you budget three to four hours of review. Then you can tell us if you’d like to schedule a face to face meeting for a half or full hour.
(PLEASE NOTE: All fiction or creative non-fiction manuscripts should be typed, double-spaced with one-inch margins. Scripts should be in standard script or screenplay format. Business writing projects should also be typed as appropriate.)
We also work with students on an ongoing basis, developing individualized syllabi for weekly or bi-weekly meetings.
With a minimum of five prepaid sessions, email support between sessions is included. There is a one-hour minimum.
Individual coaching meetings take place at our studio at 4043 N. Ravenswood, Chicago. But we are also happy to work with writers outside the Chicago area via email and phone.
