Twitter 101 for Writers

Monday, March 26, 2012

You’ve probably heard the words “Twitter” and “tweeting” everywhere from NPR to eavesdropped conversations on your bus ride home. Maybe you’ve been trying to resist it, or maybe you don’t know what it’s all about. Either way, Twitter (and other social media) are here to stay. The good news is that you can use it to promote yourself, join a network of writers, practice your haikus, and even land paid writing gigs.

We will focus on using Twitter, from creating an account to finding followers to building a sophisticated network. We’ll also talk about what not to do and how to protect yourself and your online identity.

Bring a laptop if you have one!

Who Should Attend:

  • Adults, 18 and over
  • Writers at all levels
