Screenwriting I

Description: Our new Screenwriting program begins with this class. Screenwriting I provides strong foundation for those just starting out with good ideas, as well as those writers who are further along in their screenplays. We’ll cover story structure, character development, dialogue, plots and sub-plots, “writing visually,” and screenplay formats and writing styles.

Students will explore their own film ideas, learn how to outline and prepare a story, and complete some scene writing.

When taken in conjunction with Screenwriting II (to be add this fall), Screenwriting I forms the foundation for students to generate a screenplay draft.

No prior writing experience is necessary.

Who Should Attend: This course is open to writers at all levels. It is a pre-requisite for Screenwriting II (to be added Fall 08).

NOTE: This class may be used for Certificate Program students as one Elective.
