Reading as a Writer
Begins April 11, 2012
Book clubs are great to discuss themes and issues. But have you ever wanted to discuss a book or story with other writers, to talk about the decisions a particular author made when writing?
In this four-session class, we’ll meet to discuss a variety of short stories from class and contemporary authors. We may even look at a few short novel excerpts as well.
Students will be provided with the readings (via email or hard copies) and you’ll have some reading to do before the first session so we can dive right into the stories to discover their secrets of success.
Reading as a Writer is a great opportunity to analyze themes, narrative structure, character development, use of language, cultural perspectives and more. If you want to improve your writing, then learn from the masters!

Who Should Attend:
- Adults, 18 and over
- All writing levels
