Project Tutorial
Description: As a final step to achieving your Certificate in Creative Writing, you are required to complete a project tutorial. Over eight weeks you will work directly with one writing coach/instructor to revise and polish a short story, essay or other original material. This final piece should be your finished product to use for MFA applications, to send out for publication, or to use as as the beginning of a collection or novel.
The Project Tutorial consists of five hours of one-to-one coaching. Student and Coach decide how much time to spend on written manuscript reviews and how much time to spend in face-to-face meetings.
How the Tutorial Works:
1. Students will register and pay for the Project Tutorial and then StoryStudio will “partner” coach and student.
2. Student and Coach connect to determine a plan of action and how to best utilize the coaching hours.
3. Student and Coach continue to work directly with one another until the tutorial is completed.
4. StoryStudio reviews the final draft and prepares completion certificate.
5. Student has final meeting with Jill to determine next steps in her/his writing goals.
