If you’ve taken the Writing Your Novel course and have a good start on developing your book, then this workshop is the perfect place for you to continue to discover your story and receive helpful critical feedback.
The focus here is on workshopping your chapters and helping you further understand the story you are trying to tell. The Novel Workshop is designed for students who have started their novels and have at least 25 pages written. The class meets every other week, leaving you plenty of time to write and read, and students are encouraged to rejoin the workshop over several terms.
This workshop will:- provide a place for you to get critical feedback on character, voice and story
- teach you to be a good reader and learn how to analyze your own work
- help you delve deeper into scene setting, character and language
- give you direction on moving forward
In addition to focused feedback from your peers, you will also receive written comments from the instructor.
If you have completed a draft of your novel, consider joining the Advanced Fiction Workshop.
