How to Talk to Total Strangers

Building Your Writer’s Network

Wednesday, February 8, 2012

Just in time for the AWP Annual Conference this February, Networking Professional Jackie Loewe will provide you with practical tips and tricks on finding the courage to meet editors and agents and writers, along with the right words to say when you have their attention!

Learn how to make small talk, approach new contacts and exchange contact information with comfort and ease. If you haven’t been building your network, now’s the perfect time to get started. Why? Because the relationships you develop with other writers, editors, agents, and small press publishers can have a dramatic affect on your ability to promote your work and see it in print.

Becoming an active networker is more than attending readings or conferences and collecting business cards. It’s about building relationships and seizing opportunities to connect and to position yourself for writing or publishing success.
