Creative Writing II
Description: Creative non-fiction comes in many forms—essays, articles, freeflowing memoir. It takes a combination of thought, craft and, yes, imagination to write compelling non-fiction.If you’ve taken our Creative Writing I class or have been writing for a while and want more craft and more workshopping, then this is your next step.
A continuation of Creative Writing I, this course delves deeper into how to bring fiction craft, such as scene setting and character development, to your pieces. We’ll talk about the many directions you may pursue with your writing, work on in-class exercises and discuss published works.
A major emphasis in this class is workshopping your drafts, sharing it with the class to gain important critical feedback to help you move forward.
StoryStudio classes are typically limited to 15 participants or fewer. This intimate setting allows for greater interaction and personal attention.
Who Should Attend: This course is designed for those with some experience writing and exposing their work in a writing workshop environment. Graduates of StoryStudio Creative Writing I or people who have had previous writing classes and workshops will benefit most. If you are uncertain, call 773.728.8441 for a consultation.
