StoryStudio Chicago is a growing community of writers building Chicagoland’s premier center for writing and writers. Our mission is simple: teach the art and craft of writing in a positive, open, and encouraging community where students can develop their unique voices.
We offer creative writing classes, business writing and communications training, stimulating discussion, a sense of humor, and a creative space for writers to talk about writing. We’re always looking for opportunities to help you tell your stories better and to a broader audience.
Our students come from all walks of life. They are all ages, and have all kinds of writing experience.
If you’re interested in creative or business writing, StoryStudio has a class for you. Our committed and talented instructors are working writers who bring their experience and expertise to the classroom with warmth and humor.
Our classes and workshops meet at one of our studios: in Chicago we’re located at 4043 N. Ravenswood, Chicago, and in the North Shore we’re at 723 Elm Street, Winnetka. We’re easy to get to, easy to park near, and both our studios offer great karma to get your creative juices going!
Who is StoryStudio?
Jill Pollack started StoryStudio in 2003 for purely selfish reasons. “I wanted a place where I could meet and study and hang out with other writers,” says Pollack. “For all of Chicago’s success in the arts, there was no central organization for those of us who depend on reading and writing to keep our sanity.”
